About the Manna |
|
Many parents are rightly concerned about what their child will be given to eat for the week. It is important to remember that we cannot force any child to eat a particular food. If your child struggles with eating healthy or has an eating disorder, please make your particular Youth Director aware of this prior to the week.
Breakfast & Dinner: Each week will have their very own “Chefs” preparing both breakfast & dinner each night in the kitchen. Each meal will be a healthy, well-balanced meal.
Lunch: This meal will be provided by a team of parents from each church represented. It will be assembled the morning of the day it is served and should include the following items:
* Sandwich (placed in a zip-lock bag): * bread, * lunch meat (ham, turkey), * optional piece of cheese (packaged separately), * condiment packet of mustard or mayonnaise, * napkin & * appropriate plastic utensil. * Bag of chips or cookies * Fruit (banana, apple, orange or a bag of grapes).
* All contents should be placed in a brown lunch bag for easy distribution. * All perishable items should be placed in a cooler (provided) with ice to avoid spoiling.
ANOTHER SUGGESTION FOR LUNCH: Sometimes parents will “chip in” and provide via a local, fast food restaurant. Chic-Fil-A, McDonald’s & Zaxby’s have all been big hits in the past.
*Important reminder about ALL food. DO NOT provide any food or make any food with nuts especially peanuts, peanut oil or peanut butter in the ingredients. |
